Welcoming Motorcade and Parade Media Coverage Invited Nothing says “welcome and thank you” to our visiting Marines more than upstate streets lined with smiling faces waving American flags, and hundreds of motorcycles joining in patriotic tribute. To make sure their welcome is one they will long remember, we are working hard to make upstate communities aware of this unique opportunity to turn out along the motorcade route on the afternoon of their arrival, to show appreciation to the visiting Marines and to thank them for the sacrifice on our behalf. We are encouraging local media outlets to help make this information available to the upstate. Route details are listed on our web site under Event. On the day of arrival, event organizers and some visiting Marines will be available for interviews. Pre-arrival interviews with event organizers are also available.  Details of the motorcycle escort route and times are shown under the Motorycle Escort pages. Other Event Activities Open to Media Honoring Their Service welcomes media coverage of the Marines’ visit to the upstate, and will gladly assist in making your time productive. Out of consideration for their service to our country, media coverage and questions should be restrained to their visit to the upstate, and questions concerning war or combat experiences should not be asked. Many of them have experienced traumatic events, including personal injury and loss of friends. The real story here is their opportunity to relax in the beautiful upstate, and to enjoy our hospitality. We sincerely appreciate and thank you for honoring this request.
